Sister Mary Beth rehired

Sister Mary Beth Niehaus, OSB, has been rehired as Pastoral Associate in St. Bede’s, St. Mary’s and St. Patrick’s parishes. Sister has recently been working for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas doing the Rural Ministry Survey.

Sister’s work as Pastoral Associate for the three parishes includes:

• Baptismal Preparation classes for first-time parents
• Assistance at Baptisms
• Maintenance of various church records
• Assist in Marriage Preparation and wedding rehearsals
• Serve as Eucharistic Minister to the sick and homebound
• Visit sick in hospitals and those in care homes
• Celebrate parish Communion Services when Mass is not scheduled
• Offer retreats and other outreach programs, etc.

Office hours are as follows:

• 11:00 to 2 p.m. at St. Bede’s Church, Kelly on Tuesdays; call 336-3189
• 11:00 to 2 p.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, Corning, on Wednesdays; call 868-2790.

Sister Mary Beth’s home parish is St. Peter and Paul, Seneca. She has teaching experience in grade and high school, college and adults. her last education assignment was a Donnelly College, Kansas City, KS. Sister is a graduate of Benedictine College (Mt. St. Scholastica College), Atchison, KS. She earned a Masters Degree from Emporia State University, Emporia, KS and Sabbatical Program in Religioius Studies from Gonzaga Univesity, Spokane, WA.
